Job Description

Are you an experienced Buyer in the Engineering or Manufacturing industry looking for an opportunity to join their successful, long-standing company in Heanor?

This position is a hybrid role, working from their offices Tuesday – Thursday and Monday and Friday working from home.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle purchasing and contracting for goods and services in the UK and abroad
  • Prepare inquiries and purchase orders, evaluate bids, and negotiate contracts
  • Manage and negotiate with suppliers to meet cost, delivery and performance
  • Provide advice and estimates for costs of manufacture and shipping
  • Coordinate document approvals and monitor returns
  • Monitor supplier inventory to ensure timely and accurate year-end stock
  • Purchase equipment and services to support project managers and internal customers

Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Buyer or in Purchasing & Supply Chain environment
  • GCSE Grade 5 or above in Maths and English or equivalent
  • MCIPS qualified, or working towards a recognised procurement qualification equivalent standard is desirable
