Are you an experienced sales professional with a proven ability to build strategic partnerships and deliver commercial growth?
Our client is looking for an Association Sales Manager to lead business development within the conferences and events.This role requires a confident communicator with a structured approach to identifying new opportunities, managing client relationships and securing high-value contracts through competitive bids and proposals.
You will play a key role in shaping and executing the sales strategy to ensure a seamless client journey from initial contact through to event delivery. A deep understanding of the events industry, strong commercial judgement and the ability to influence decision-makers at all levels will be essential to success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with agencies, corporate clients and associations
- Identify, target and convert new business opportunities across multiple sectors
- Own the sales process from initial contact through to bidding, negotiation and contract close
- Stay ahead of industry trends, promotions, and packages to confidently pitch to clients
- Represent the venue at trade shows, networking events and client entertainment functions
- Conduct site tours and showcase the venue’s full capabilities to prospective clients
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure smooth execution of events and accurate client handovers
- Maintain accurate records and activity tracking in the CRM system
- Contribute to budget planning, reporting and sales forecasting alongside the senior leadership team
What They’re Looking For:
- Proven track record in B2B sales, ideally within the events, hospitality or venues sector
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
- Organised, commercially minded, and target driven
- Confident managing multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
- Comfortable networking, attending events, and working occasional evenings as needed
- Experience in preparing bid documents and participating in formal tender processes is highly desirable
- A collaborative team player who leads by example and builds strong internal and external relationships
