Are you an experienced Lead or Third-Party Manufacturing Buyer or Purchasing Manager in the Retail or FMCG space looking for a fresh opportunity to join a well-established global company that have a great reputation? In this role, you will be responsible for a varied UK and European supply base, purchasing FMCG products in the food/retail industry.  This is an extremely dynamic role, playing a pivotal part in sourcing new suppliers, negotiating contractual terms and ensuring products are delivered and in budget.

You will ideally be CIPS, ISM, or have an equivalent procurement qualification or have a Professional degree/apprenticeship in agriculture / agronomist for fresh produce.

Key responsibilities:

• Market intelligence to identify expectations of price, availability, and supply base developments for spend
• Manage and execute sourcing projects along strategic sourcing process by requesting information, benchmarking, negotiation and contracts
• Propose sourcing strategy for material groups to optimise the cost versus value and risks
• Recommend negotiations scenarios and tactics
• Supplier relation management and to develop and maintain supplier evaluation scorecards and oversee supplier performance
• Monitor implementation of contracts and terms
• Liaise with the quality and marketing teams for effective supplier approval and for effective supplier innovation
• Propose price guidance for material group budgets and report savings for sourcing projects
• Improve and provide added value from sustainability sourcing
