Job Description

Are you a hands on Financial Controller and experienced in all aspects of finance and accounts and looking for an immediate opportunity to join a well-established company to oversee the business objective of profit growth.

Our client is looking for a Financial Controller in the Poole area on a fixed term contract for 12 months. This is a varied role, like that of a change manager where you will use your working knowledge of financial management and accounts as well as your proven leadership and management experience to lead a team.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Delivering the overall business objectives of profit growth and leading the business in cash management, profitability, and growth
  • Deliver accurate and timely management information to senior management in accordance with UK GAAP, corporate requirements, and fiscal legislation
  • Production of Company Accounts to UK GAAP, in line with GAPM, along with all management information reporting resultant
  • Ensuring all financial issues and controls are dealt with effectively and all Statutory and Tax obligations are adhered to
  • Responsible for all source financial information results from revenue recognition, expenses, and balance sheet control accounts
  • Ensure all aspects of management accounts process are properly monitored and controlled including validation and authorisation of monthly payroll and Accounts payable payment runs
  • Responsibility for the results of internal and external financial audits
  • Manage compliance requirement for Corporate Tax, VAT and payroll related taxes delivering reports and Government statistics. Preparation of the Statutory Accounts and tax working papers
  • Produce budgets, revisions and forecast in line with company requirements
  • To effectively lead and manage a team, ensuring development and performance are measured and responded to proactively, professional, and accordingly
  • Travel both within the UK and Overseas, including travel/work outside normal office hours as necessary.

Skills and Experience

  • 5 years’ experience ideally working in an SME
  • Proven Financial Accounting background with experience of multi-company, multi-currency consolidations
  • CCAB or equivalent qualification
  • Excellent business acumen and a good working knowledge of financial management & accounts
  • Proven leadership and management experience with strong people management skills and the able to drive the team forward
  • The ability to thrive and work under pressure in a busy and deadline driven team
  • High level of proficiency with MS Office
