General Manager – Construction

Are you currently working in the Construction industry as an Operations, Contracts, Quantity Surveyor or General Manager? Are you looking for an opportunity to join a family owned business, lead a small team and be the overall business manager and the ambassador for the company?

As the leader in their field, this successful bespoke business has grown over the last 4 decades to be known UK wide for their excellent reputation for quality construction, expertise and personal values across both modern and heritage build and maintenance.

Based out of the idyllic office in the New Forest, Hampshire this role is to support and learn from the owner who is looking to retire.

As General Manager you must be very organised and have experience of costing work and calculating the margins ensuring the value of each project to the business.

You must be experienced in writing quotations that are detailed and well presented, scheduling in multiple pieces of work and maintaining contact with the client at all times.

Ideally you will have an HNC/BSC in Quantity Surveying/Construction along with hands on practical experience both onsite and commercially. A knowledge of scheduling using computer software such as Commusoft would be an advantage.

As GM you will offer proven leadership skills and be able to manage a small, friendly and productive team as well as offer a good knowledge of Health & Safety and Building regulations. You will need to be intelligent, and forward thinking, planning for the future and be mindful of the bigger business picture at all times.

As GM you will need the ability to read plans, learn and absorb the information quickly and have excellent communication skills both internally with the team but also with the high value customers.
