Dealing with a counter offer can be difficult, often a large carrot is dangled, more money? (did you know that only 12% of employees resign due to money)

But what we encourage you to remember is the fundamental reasons for looking elsewhere. More often than not these issues have been broached before and been ignored.

Here are some things to think about when considering THE COUNTER OFFER….
Why did it take you saying that you are leaving for the company to be galvanised into action? ๐Ÿค”
Do you really feel valued now? ๐Ÿค”
Is the carrot that has been dangled, a real fix or just a band aid? ๐Ÿฉน
Will the ยฃยฃ extra be worth your mental state in 6 months? ๐Ÿ’ท
Will you actually receive the promotion? ๐Ÿ˜ฌ
Will you be given support in that role? (Surely if they thought you are ready for a promotion it would have been brought to the table already? ๐Ÿ’ญ)
Are you now expendable? If the company makes redundancies you could be top of the list now, you have shown your desire to leave after all. ๐Ÿ˜ฏ
If you turn down the counter offer where could your career go- no reward without risk right? The new company and their role clearly excited you enough to interview, and accept an offer… ๐Ÿค—
If you wrote a list of pros and cons… Where would the current role sit ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿค” VS the new opportunity (key is in NEW and OPPORTUNITY) ๐Ÿฅณ
